Sanniquellie, Nimba County - On Liberia’s 163rd Independence Anniversary in Sanniquellie, Nimba County, President Ellen Johnson has observed that the issues that divide the people of Nimba are the same ones that divide the Liberian nation - ethnic and other social tensions related to land disputes, and, sometimes, religious schisms. It is these tensions which the President said have prevented the country from finding sustainable solutions to pertinent political, economic, and social problems.

Monrovia, Liberia - The Governments of Liberia and the United States have signed an agreement under which the United States will increase its annual assistance to Liberia. 
The acting President of the European Federation of Liberian Associations (EFLA), John Nimly Brownell, is consistently pushing for the passing of a dual citizenship bill by the Liberian Legislature and also for Liberians in the Diaspora to participate in the presidential elections come 2011.
