The Local: Sweden’s News in English

I currently visited Liberia (Nov. 14 - Dec. 05, 2009) with a delegation of a consortium of charity organizations from Sweden, Switzerland, the USA and the EU. We partnered with a local organization, the Center for Women and Children Empowerment (CWCE) in conducting a week long workshop on micro finance for vulnerable women whilst in Liberia. We also presented to the JFK a mechanized high tech first respond ambulance to build up the service delivery capacity of the hospital.

The European Federation of Liberia Associations (EFLA) conducted its Annual Congress in Maribor, Slovenia recently and voted unanimously to call on Liberians not to participate or vote in the August 23rd, 2011 Constitutional Referendum organized by the National Elections Commission (NEC). If however you have to exercise your franchise, then EFLA urges all registered voters to vote NO on all of the four (4) proposals submitted by the Liberian Government.
